Bouchard Père & Fils: 2025 Museum Release

Bouchard Père & Fils have unveiled a remarkable 2025 Museum Release – a rare collection of back-vintage bottlings, offering a glimpse into the estate’s illustrious history. Explore this exclusive range of Grand Cru wines, spanning vintages from 1991 to 2012.

Le Corton, Grand Cru

Corton is the only red Grand Cru in the Côte de Beaune and the Côte d’Or that can be divided into sub-climats. "Le Corton" refers to the historic plot that names the Corton appellation. Bouchard Père & Fils owns 60% of Le Corton, which is primarily planted with Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. Its unique east-facing altitude benefits from northern winds that keep the fruit fresh and reduce disease risk, ensuring perfect ripeness. The soil on the hillside is a shallow, iron-rich clay resting on compact limestone, which contributes to the wine’s elegance and floral character, unlike most Cortons planted in deeper clay that yield more powerful wines.

Bonnes-Mares, Grand Cru

Some believe the name "Bonnes Mares" is derived from the verb "marer," which means "to cultivate," while others contend it originates from bas-reliefs depicting mother goddesses, referred to as "Bonnes Mères," who were said to protect the harvest. In 1996, Bouchard Père & Fils acquired 24 acres in Chambolle-Musigny, producing just over 1,000 bottles of this wine each year. As of the 2023 vintage, Bonnes Mares will be transferred to Domaine d'Eugénie; thus, the 2022 vintage will be the last produced under the Bouchard label, with 2023 marking the first under Eugénie.
