Tasting Notes
The expressive and fully secondary nose (though with no sous-bois) is classic Corton with its game, earth and sauvage aromas that complement well the still powerful, delicious and highly complex broad-shouldered flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration and excellent length on the sappy and velvet-textured finish that delivers seriously impressive length. Moreover, there is none of the backend astringency that is sometimes found in the less successful examples from 1991. Overall, this is a stunner of a Corton that should drink well for years to come though for my taste, there is no more upside potential to be realized.
