Score 90/100 · Drink 2021-2030, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2020

The 2017 Chablis Vau de Vey Premier Cru is creamy and exotic. Pear, spice and tropical inflections all grace this silky, wonderfully nuanced Chablis. Today, the Vau de Vey is a bit rustic and rough around the edges. Bottle age will help address some of that. All the 2017 needs is a bit more time to come together.

The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey reveals aromas of citrus oil, green apples and fresh herbs. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a delicately textural attack, bright acids and a chalky finish. It's performing somewhat better than it did from tank.
