Score 91/100 · Drink 2001-2008, Pierre Rovani, Feb 2001

Mineral-imbued fresh oak can be discerned in the aromatics of the 1999 Pouilly-Fuisse Les Crays Vieilles Vignes. This medium-bodied, fat, focused, and deep wine is packed with minerals, apples, pears, and spices. It has outstanding concentration and depth of fruit, as well as an admirable, pure, and supple finish. This is a gorgeous 1999 with all of its qualities and none of its flaws. Drink it over the course of the next 7 years. Importer: North Berkeley Imports, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 848-8910; the other wines are Peter Vezan Selections (Paris Fax # 011-33-1-42-65-42-93), various importers including Skurnik in NY tel (516) 677-9300.
