2022 Constantia Glen Five

The 2022 Five is another Bordeaux blend but with Petit Verdot and Malbec, raised in 80% new 225-litre French oak for 19 months. That Petit Verdot lends florality on the nose: pressed violets and peony infusing the black and blueberry fruit. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a succulent mouthfeel, quite fleshy but nicely controlled, with appreciable mineralité flooding through towards the finish. Excellent.
