The 2021 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru sports just a little too much wood on the nose for my liking, partially covering the terroir expression. The palate is fresh on the entry with a fine line of acidity, quite effervescent with citrus peel, orange zest and a touch of grapefruit on the lively finish. Fine, given the growing season.

The 2021 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru sports quite a bit of reduction on the nose, but it seems to work well, and the terroir comes through nicely. The palate is well balanced with lime and citrus lemon on the entry, nicely focused though it lacks a sense of mineralité on the finish. Fine. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.
