Tasting notes
Red and black fruits, savory herbs, flowers, and some spicy wood notes all emerge from the 2021 Château La Tour De By, a medium-bodied, fresh, focused Médoc that shows the charming, mid-weight, already enjoyable style of the vintage.

The 2021 La Tour de By offers up aromas of minty berries, cherries and white pepper, followed by a medium-bodied, soft palate with a slightly metallic finish. This hasn't quite fulfilled the potential it showed en primeur.
Touches of brett or perhaps earthy geosmin on the nose, there are dark fruits here and tannic structure but it struggles to reach full ripeness. Tour de By is an estate that can produce wonderful drinking claret in good vintages, but it is a little dilute in 2021. 50hl/h yield.
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Light to mid crimson. Marked herbaceous aroma, leafy cassis, more leaf than fruit. Light-bodied and fresh. Not for the long term. Lean, slightly dry finish. (JH)
