Tasting notes
The stony soils high on the north side of the Montagne de Beaune have produced a bright, tensile wine in the 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l'Écu Monopole, a medium to full-bodied, supple and suave red wine redolent of raspberries, sweet spices, orange zest and licorice.

Monopole. Cask sample. Energetic nose and then lots of grainy tannin that’s almost fighting with the red-fruit flavours. Quite long. Should mature into something fun to drink. (JR)
Fragrant and elegant with effusive red berry and summer flower aromas, this is graceful, but there\'s excellent underlying power on the mid-palate, the fine tannins building beautifully at the long finish.
About the producer

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
