Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Franc explodes from the glass with a beautiful array of French oak aromas with sweet baking spices, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate overflows with juicy black cherry, dusty red plum and black raspberry and an integrated expression of fried sage. Full-bodied, luscious and round, the parade continues on the palate with juicy fruit tones laden with French oak before giving way to buttressing tannins that lift the expression, allowing this to age gracefully through the end of the decade. With a long, complex finish, the wine continues to offer evolving flavors with persistence. This may be one of the best Cabernet Francs in South Africa. Bravo, I'm taking another sip.
