Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc from Chanson has a slightly disjointed nose at first, flinty and smoky, some SO2 needing to be fully subsumed. The palate is well balanced but does not possess the complexity of its peers. It seems a little commercial and "punter friendly" on the finish. Nothing wrong with that, but it lags behind others in this blind flight.
