Score 88/100 · Drink 2021-2028, Neal Martin, Nov 2021

The 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé was a blend of Chantry and Vergisson although presently it comprises 60% from Vergisson, 15% from Fuissé and the rest from Chantry, which tends to ripen later. It is well defined on the nose with cooking apple, touches of orange zest and a touch of quince. The palate is well balanced, quite primal with grapefruit and orange zest, fine concentration and straightforward on the sappy finish.

A blend based on the commune of Vergisson, the 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé unwinds in the glass with notes of orchard fruit and fresh bread, framed by light reduction. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a rich, giving core of fruit, it's a ripe, textural wine that's already showing well.
