Score 93/100 · Drink 2024-2030, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Jan 2023

The new non-vintage blend NV Ipse was produced with wines from 2014, 2015 and 2016 and with a large price that is more of the same—15% alcohol, lowish acidity and plenty of oak. They kept the old wines in glass demijohn and then blended them. It obviously reflects the style from yesteryear, as it's from older vintages. It has a lot of tannin and plenty of oak and feels hard and young. It's always a question mark how wines like this are going to evolve, if the tannins are ever going to be resolved and if the wine will become balanced. This is the first vintage of this blend, and it was almost experimental, as they only had one barrel that later matured in amphora for one more year and produced only 300 bottles.
