Tasting notes
Sweet and rich with less tannin than the Grèves 2020 but still that bitter finish. (JR)

The 2020 Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouge 1er Cru has a nicely-detailed bouquet with lifted red cherry and raspberry scents, quite floral and much more elegant in style compared to say, the Clos des Marconnets. Of Chanson’s nearly 4.5 ha in Clos des Mouches, a plot of 2 ha on the upper side of the hill is planted with Chardonnay, on sandy soil over limestone. Cask sample.
