Offering citrus and grapefruit notes, the 2021 Perdeblokke Limited Release is green with sweet herbs. Medium-bodied and with a soft dustiness on the palate, the wine is rather lean, delivering an acid-driven finish and will likely be better with food.

The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Klein Constantia Perdebokke, named after the cooler south-facing vineyard on sandstone, represents a barrel selection after a wild ferment. It has a complex nose with lemon thyme, lemon sherbet, crushed stone and a very discrete reduction that lends a bit of edge. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, very good weight and tension, building towards a vibrant, minerally and quite strict finish. Give this impressive Sauvignon Blanc 12-18 months in bottle.
