Hints of lavender and licorice add nuance to the ripe black cherries of the 2019 Cotes du Rhone Les Quartz. An 80-20 blend of Grenache and Syrah, it's full-bodied, velvety in texture and long, finishing with a flourish of ripe tannins.

The 2019 Côtes Du Rhône Les Quartz offers more medium to full-bodied richness and depth as well as notable complexity in its red and black berry fruits, peppery herbs, game, and violet-like aromas and flavors. Cotes du Rhone doesn’t get much better, and this beauty is perfect for drinking over the coming 5-7 years or more. The 2019s from Le Clos du Caillou showed brilliantly, and this is clearly a great vintage for the estate, with the wines equaling what was produced in 2016, 2010, 2007, 2005, and 2001. These are silky, elegant, yet also concentrated wines across the board, and despite the multitude of cuvées, they all have singular, distinct personalities. These are brilliant wines readers will love to have in their cellars.
