Tasting notes
The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet: rose-petal-tinged red fruit, fine delineation, quite focused and stylish, with just a touch of animal fur developing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit. It's not the most complex Morey, but it's fresh and saline, with an insistent grip and a briny finish that gets the saliva flowing. What a splendid showing. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

A particular success this year is the 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of dark berry fruit, orange rind, incense, rose petals and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's elegant and charming, with fine concentration and beautifully powdery tannins.
