Tasting notes
The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Hors-Classe Les Ménétrières is similarly superb, offering up aromas of fresh peach, white flowers, green apple, orange oil and warm bread. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional, with considerable muscle and concentration despite its elegant profile, structured around chewy dry extract and a lively girdle of acidity, and concluding with a long, saline finish. This brilliant Pouilly-Fuissé will amply reward bottle age.

This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction along with a dollop of wood toast. Once again there is excellent volume to the dense and lavishly rich big-bodied flavors that display evident power and punch that carries over to the essence of pear and bitter lemon-suffused finish. This is a borderline massive, indeed almost monolithic wine so patience definitely required.
Unfurling with aromas of green apple, white flowers and blanched almonds, the 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Hors-Classe Les Ménétrières is full-bodied and fleshy, with an expansive attack, a deep, stony mid-palate and a long, mouthwatering finish. It's beautifully pure and intense. Like the Tournant de Pouilly, it was harvested before the rains.
