Tasting notes
(22 months of élevage ): Bright light yellow. Lemon drop, ripe apple and an element of exotic oak on the nose. Silky on entry, then very concentrated and fat--even a bit exotic--in the mid-palate, with an element of salinity that gives it a slight ponderousness in the early going. Tightens up a bit on the back end, finishing with good focus. Almost too much today, this wine may well merit a higher score once it loses some of its baby fat.

The 2015 Pouilly Fuisse Cuvee Claude Denogent Les Cras was still in barrel when I tasted it, due to be bottled the followed month. It has a crisp, tightly wound bouquet with a hint of licorices lending a touch of flamboyance to the otherwise quite linear and taut aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a light wild honey and quince note on the entry, a touch of nougat that counterbalances a refreshing citric finish that lingers long in the mouth. Yet another superb 2015 from this domaine.
