Tasting notes
The 2015 Macon Chardonnay Clos de la Crochette has an enticing bouquet with hints of almond and walnut infusing the citrus fruit, nicely defined with good lift, quite generous compared to others. The palate is well balanced, a little more rounded in texture, with fresh citrus lemon and lime on the entry, It comes across as being quite saline toward the finish that feels lilting and nonchalant, so I recommend enjoying this over the next six or seven years.

Clay-limestone soils. South facing and the earliest ripening. Combination of quite simple fruit and stoniness. Quite attractive. Bitter note on the end. (JR)
(from three parcels picked very early): Pale, bright yellow. Orange zest and brown spices on the perfumed nose. A silky, dense fruit bomb with a light touch. Wonderfully lively stone fruit and spice flavors carry through a dry, long finish. This wine has a totally different grain from the other 2015s at this address: slightly dusty and phenolic but not at all bitter. Lovely Chardonnay.
