Tasting notes
As good as the Les Pommards is this is clearly at another level altogether with its elegant nose of mineral reduction, pear, apple and lemon rind scents. The cool, pure and sleek middle weight flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the extract-rich medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate on the refined, focused, linear and impeccably well-balanced finale. This is terrific and I very much like the chiseled quality of the backend.

(from several parcels--four hectares in total--on schist; my sample was from the second bottling of this wine, done in July of this year): Bright, pale yellow with a golden tinge. More citrus fruits than minerals on the nose, plus the light resiny oak quality that characterizes most of these wines; a touch of Riesling-like petrol adds another element. Then more minerally in the mouth than on the nose, conveying classic dryness, excellent energy and a light salinity. This was the first parcel picked in 2014, according to Antoine Robert. Still a bit youthfully closed.
