The 2014 La Tour de By has a satisfactory graphite-tinged bouquet that is conservative and tightly wound, but opens nicely in the glass. The palate displays good body and fruit concentration on the entry, plenty of spicy black fruit laced with graphite, with impressive energy on the finish. This La Tour de By has turned out nicely and should drink well for 8-10 years.
Deep, slightly smudgy crimson. Ripe blackcurrant fruit and just a little dusty on the nose. Dry and thick in texture and a bit tough overall. (JH)
Deep purplish crimson. Clean, pure and fruity. Unusually luscious tannins. This wine has had the deepest of massages! Velvety texture but not the freshest. Unusual. (JR)
