Score 92-94/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2014

The 2012 Pouilly Fuissé les Carrons Vieilles Vignes comes courtesy of 90-year-old vines on limestone scree. It is (again) quite sultry on the nose at first, but unfurls in the glass to reveal scents of green lemon, minerals and a touch of baking bread. The palate is tight on the entry, quite compact, but then bursts with wonderful citrus peel, almond, walnut and spicy notes that linger long after the wine has left. There is great substance and density here, a fabulous Pouilly-Fuissé in the making.
