Tasting notes
Very deep flavoured with a meaty, savoury, 'serious' nose. Very dry and fresh for a Pol. It really was worth ageing this as long. It is developing beautifully. Note that this is one of first years that this cuvée was labelled Blanc de Blancs rather than Chardonnay. (JR)

Green-gold. Yeasty and rich, with powerful pear and white peach aromas and pungent notes of toasted bread and sweet butter. Very fresh and clean, with lively citrus-dominated flavors, a hint of candied pear and gentle, enlivening acidity. This gained richness and weight with air, finishing on a ripe note of orchard fruit.
About the producer

Pol Roger is one of Champagne’s most respected Grandes Marques. While it is best known undoubtedly for its prestige cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, it also produces one of the finest non-vintage bottlings on the market.
