Score 91/100 · Drink 2014-2023, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2014

The 2012 Pouilly Fuissé Clos Sur la Roche comes from sunny, steep soils on the lower reaches of the valley. It has a very precise bouquet with scents of toffee apple, minerals, white chocolate and hazelnut that gains in intensity all the time in the glass. The palate is very well-balanced with a fine line of acidity. It is more backward than the domaine’s other 2012 crus, but is beautifully balanced with a sense of symmetry toward the finish, with a twist of bitter lemon on the aftertaste. Excellent.

Tangy citrus aroma with a hint of orange, smoky mineral, too. Creamy like the Ronchevats but softer in the middle. Caressing and still lively and fresh, citrus and creamy lees/oak influence combining perfectly. (JH)
