2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Safres

Full, bright red. Energetic aromas of black raspberry, cherry, rose and spicecake, with a hint of musky herbs. Weighty red and dark berry compote flavors are lifted by tangy minerality and complemented by candied flowers and anise. Finishes dense and chewy, with lingering notes of sweet dark fruits.

Made in a silky, elegant style, the 2007 Le Clos du Caillou Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Safres shows perfumed aromatics of flowers, raspberries and assorted red fruits, licorice, toasted spice garrigue. The palate is rich, balanced and silky with gorgeous fine grained tannins adding length to the finish. This smooth, harmonious wine should drink beautifully over the next 10 or so years.

Deep, vivid red. Impressively fresh, sexy bouquet of dark berries, smoky herbs, minerals and Asian spices. Very precise flavors of sweet blackberry and boysenberry are nicely supported by fully absorbed tannins and gentle mineral snap. Already extremely alluring, this 100%-grenache wine finishes with outstanding clarity, spiciness and length.
