Score 89+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2004

(consists of four separate components blended at the end; 20% new oak) Aromas of orange zest, pineapple, hazelnut and toast. Fat and dense but less open today than the Combettes (this is typically riper and more complex than the Combettes and therefore less expressive early, according to Vincent). Minerally and deep, with an impressive slow-building finish featuring a hint of candied citrus. But rather closed today and not currently showing the vibrancy of the Combettes 2002.
