Tasting notes
From the grand cru vlilages of Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. You can taste what a ripe year this was in an opulent palate entry which resolves into a creamy texture and lemon-cream flavour before tightening up for a refreshing and relatively tense finish. Still youthful but should have a smart future.

The purity of fruit is impressive for such a ripe year, with sliced apples, chalk, lemongrass and lilacs on the nose. Full-bodied but shows freshness and framing from the bright acidity and light phenolics. A fascinating blanc de blancs. Spent 12 years on the lees. Disgorged January 2026. 9 g/L dosage. Drink now.
The 2015 Comtes de Champagne is delicate, airy and wonderfully expressive. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk, mint and slate are finely sculpted in the glass. Light on its feet and crystalline, the 2015 is terrific. There's a touch of savoriness that is typical of the year, but it is not dominant or overpowering. At present, the 2015 shows a bit of tightness from its recent disgorgement, but that should not be an issue in time. Comtes is a real success in a year that was quite challenging. Dosage is 9 grams per liter. Disgorged. July 2025.
