The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Grandes Ruchottes is another brilliant wine from Moreau. Wafting from the glass with notes of green orchard fruit, peach and mandarin oil, mingled with hints of white flowers, toasted nuts and a deft touch of reduction, it's full-bodied, satiny and crystalline, with a deep core of fruit, racy acids, chalky extract and a long, electric finish. It's derived from very old vines (plus a couple of rows of younger vines).

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Grands Ruchottes 1er Cru had just been racked at the time of this tasting. It has a very expressive bouquet with citrus fruit, lemon curd and crushed stone scents that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is well balanced and poised, with a touch of white pepper on the finish. This is a multi-faceted Chassagne.
