Tasting notes
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru is fascinating to taste next to the Brûlées, as the two wines are so markedly different. Broad shoulders give the Beaux Monts a real sense of breadth that is immediately apparent. There is a baritone feeling of resonance that is impossible to miss. Dense and brooding, with tremendous power, the Beaux Monts melds together vibrant intensity with a dark, earthy expression of Vosne. It is a remarkable wine in every way.

One of the highlights of the portfolio this year is the 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts, a serious wine that unwinds in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cassis, rich soil tones, pencil lead and complex carnal nuances. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and multidimensional, with formidable depth at the core, an ample chassis of fine structuring tannins and a long, resonant finish.
About the producer

For many, Domaine Leroy represents the pinnacle of fine Burgundy. Owned and run by the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, the domaine in Vosne-Romanée is one strand of the Leroy empire, along with Maison Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay.
