The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers is showing especially well, bursting with aromas of cherries, raspberries, orange zest and cinnamon. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, it's sensual and fragrant, with a vibrant core of fruit and a saline finish.
The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruechers 1er Cru follows the 2022, a wine I could not quite fathom out last year. This has a comparatively leafy bouquet where the stem addition is more conspicuous, especially following the sensual Charmes-Chambertin. The palate is fresh and medium-bodied with firm tannins and a keen line of acidity, although this Chambolle will require time to subsume those stems. This is quite fine, but patience is required.
