Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2026

The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Marquis de Laguiche is one of the more powerful, broader-shouldered wines in the range, exhibiting notes of peach and pear mingled with hints of white flowers, freshly baked bread and candied ginger. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and layered, it’s deep and textural.

The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot ler Cru Blanc (Marquis de Laguiche) has a beguiling bouquet with white flowers and almond infusing the citrus fruit, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is very well balanced with bright acidity, quite sapid with plenty of depth and grip on the finish. I like the body here, real weight and persistence. This might well surpass the 2023.

Cask/tank sample. Greenish gold. Substantial with strong savoury and green-fruit notes but not underripe. Still lots to chew on. (JR)
