Tasting notes
Interesting lime sherbet nose. Quite open and expressive yet with great race underneath. This wine seems the best balanced of the three. Lovely now with food though there is no shortage of alcohol. Big, hot finish. (JR)

The 1999 Riesling Smaragd Durnsteiner Kellerberg displays spices, pears, and apples in its nose. This medium-bodied and lush wine is softly-textured with an almost 2000-like richness, ripeness, and breadth. Layers of apples, white peaches, and minerals can be found in its long, supple finish. Drink it over the next 12 years. Importer: Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel. (773) 334-6700
Pineapple, melon, citrus, floral and honey aromas. A mouthful of flowers, pineapple and pungent spices and minerals. Full, rich, palpably dense and even a bit chewy. Long finishing notes resound in all flavor registers.
