The 2014 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, which is matured in a two-year old barrel, has a very intense bouquet with vibrant citrus fruit and a touch of licorice. The palate is very tensile with fabulous acidic drive matched with multi-layered fruit; it has a flinty finish that goes on and on. It is a great Chevalier-Montrachet, if not quite matching the very finest examples in 2014. Good luck finding it. Jean-Marc may elect to bottle this as magnum.

One barrel, one year old. Sumptuous nose that I would never have guessed was Roulot nor Chevalier M. A bit broad and almost fat! Power and fun. Good structure. Hint of sweetness. (JR)
