2023 Gruner Veltliner Unendlich Smaragd

The 2023 Grüner Veltliner Unendlich is made from roughly half Loibenberg, with the remainder coming from equal parts Kellerberg and Liebenberg. The wine offers ripe, golden fruit without any shriveling or botrytis. It was fermented in large barrel and matured in 500-liter barrels, with slight batonnage. Smoky reduction melds with creamy oak and promises a bold wine. The palate, however, is neither big nor bold, but rather elegant and concentrated, with sinew and power. Texture and lasting power drive the wine forward, with slight savoriness and smooth pear.
