Tasting notes
The smaller production 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard Empyrean checks in as 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 22 months in a selection of mostly Darnajou and Taransaud barrels. Dense purple-hued, it offers brilliant cassis, scorched earth, and smoked tobacco aromatics. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a deep, layered mouthfeel with ultra-fine tannins and a slightly more focused, concentrated, age-worthy style compared to the classic vineyard release. Give it 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 20 years. Drink 2029-2049.

Selected from just two blocks (A2 and A3) and aged entirely in new Darnajou and Taransaud cooperage, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Empyrean boasts dust-tinged black cherries on the nose and deep, savory notes from the wood, while being full-bodied and plush. There's concentration without overt weightiness in this fabulous wine, which finishes long and mouthwatering.
