Tasting notes
In the end, only two barrels were bottled of the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard. Robustly structured, it offers up scents of crushed stone, dusty plums and pencil shavings on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is silky but firm, finishing with dusty tannins on the long finish. Give it at least a couple of years in the cellar. (JC) 94+

Based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged 22 months in French oak, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard comes from a site in the heart of St. Helena that seems to be on the upswing in terms of quality. Red and black fruits, spice, loamy earth, and baking spices all emerge from the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, and seamless on the palate, with the vintage's elegance, polished tannins, and overall sense of class. Drink bottles any time over the coming 20-25 years. Drink 2025-2050.
