Tasting notes
Aromas of yellow peach, apricot, orange peel and lime zest, complemented by subtle oak framing, introduce the 2024 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu, a medium- to full-bodied, textural and layered wine with a fleshy core of fruit, racy acids and an enveloping finish. As ever, it derives from a comparatively warm, south-facing site, and this year 25% was vinified in oak; it deftly harnesses the warmth of the site to its advantage in what is a markedly cool vintage.

The 2024 Chablis Mont de Milieu ler Cru has a cohesive, finely delineated bouquet with Crustacea and sea spray scents intermixed with lemon verbena and apple blossom. The palate is very well balanced with pretty notes of apricot, clementine and a little more tension than the Vaillons. The 2024 has a long, flowing finish. It is excellent.
25% oak. A fullish pale lemon yellow. The south facing slope offers a generosity of fruit on the nose. A well-balanced ripeness and nicely structured with greater persistence. Ripe apples along with some stone fruit.
