(70% grenache, 25% syrah and 5% mourvedre; no oak): Saturated ruby. Blackberry compote, allspice and floral oils on the powerfully scented nose. Fleshy and broad, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors that pick up a refreshingly bitter quality with aeration. This rich, lively wine finishes with very good power, focus and energy.

(65% grenache, 30% syrah and 5% mourvedre): Youthful purple. Primary aromas of dark berries, flowers, Asian spices and minerals. Juicy and spicy on the palate, offering incisive blackberry and bitter cherry flavors with a strong note of five-spice powder. Brisk acidity adds lift and cut to the long, spicy finish. This impressively pure and focused wine should show well on release.

Ripe, broad strawberry aromas. Rich with tea leaf flavours and some savoury notes. Just avoids being too syrupy. Fresh finish. (JR)
