Score 88/100 · Drink 1995-2001, Robert Parker, Oct 1995
The 1993, the first vintage made under Monsieur Roux's regime, is a very fine Chateauneuf du Pape. It reveals the tell-tale, peppery, garrigue, spicy, sweet, jammy, black-cherry fruit that defines the quality of a top red wine from Provence. Full-bodied, intense, supple, and accessible, this is a hedonistically-styled Chateauneuf du Pape for drinking over the next 7-8 years. This well-known estate has been acquired by Charles Roux of Domaine de Trignon, so it is widely believed that the quality of Domaine des Senechaux will soar.
