Tasting notes

Tasting notes
Score 86-87/100 · Drink 1999-2004, Pierre Rovani, Aug 1998

This wine has warm and embracing aromas of boysenberries and cassis that are followed by a proportioned, currant and stone-flavored core. Revealing good concentration and a soft texture, this wine suffers from a trace of alcoholic heat and dryness in the finish. Drink it between 1999 and 2004. Domaine Bertagna is recognized for producing average to good wines. Under the direction of a German (Eva Reh, who owns the estate with her family) and her English husband, Mark Siddle, they stated, "we made the decision in 1989 not to make "okay" wines, but to dedicate ourselves to quality." Importer: Martine's Wines, Inc., San Rafael, CA; tel (415) 485-1800.
