Score 92/100 · Drink 2026-2045, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2026

A beautiful second wine from the château, the 2023 La Sirène De Giscours is based on 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and 12% Petit Verdot and was aged in 50% new French oak. It brings more elegance and voluptuousness compared to the Haut-Médoc and offers red and black fruits, medium body, and a ripe, round, layered, almost velvety mouthfeel. With ripe tannins and a great finish, it's hard to resist today, but it’s going to have 15-20 years of prime drinking if well stored. Drink 2026-2045.

The 2023 La Sirène de Giscours is a gorgeous second wine. Dark, savory and super finessed, the 2023 exudes class from start to finish. Lavender, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and mocha are all finely sculpted in a mid-weight Margaux that delivers the goods. All the elements are so well balanced. The 2023 spent 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% new.

The 2023 La Sirène de Giscours has fine precision on the nose, with pure blackberry and blueberry fruit, touches of crushed iris flower and iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid black fruit. Fine backbone for a Deuxième Vin, gentle grip, focused with a nicely robust yet still Margaux-like finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle.

The 2023 La Sirène de Giscours, raised in 30% new oak, has an open nose with black cherries and blueberry fruit, quite precise and expressive. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft entry. It’s fleshy and sweet with a touch of seaweed tincturing the black fruit on the slightly bitter finish. Maybe it lacks a bit of grip, but it represents a decent Deuxième Vin .
