2023 Clos St Denis

The 2023 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru includes 25% whole bunch this year, slightly less than the Charmes-Chambertin. This has a much stonier, mineral-driven and austere bouquet by comparison, eventually manifesting scents of incense and peony—all finely delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet and candied entry, displaying blood orange intermixed with red berry fruit, curry leaf and white pepper. Complex and engaging on the finish. this is superb.
