Score 87-88/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, May 2025

Deep purple-hued, with ripe black cherries, leafy herbs, and hints of cedar pencil, the 2024 Les Tourelles De Pichon Baron is medium-bodied, soft, plump, and front end-loaded with the charming yet superficial style of the vintage. Mostly Merlot with 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Cabernet Franc, it has good ripeness and will be ready to go right out of the gate.

65% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc. Cask sample. Red fruit with a vanilla edge. Full across the palate. Smooth and appealing with a bit of grip on the finish. Accessible. (JL)

The 2024 Les Tourelles de Longueville has a marine/oyster shell-tinged bouquet with black fruit, iodine and light fish scale scents that emerge with aeration. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a little hardness on the entry, light grip and an old-school style with some austerity towards the finish, but there is freshness here. It just pulls up a tad short, hence my score.

Good purity and precision, with fresh black and red berries and a touch of spices. Medium-bodied with a very good structure of fine-grained tannins and a long finish. 65% merlot, 22% cabernet sauvignon and 13% cabernet franc.
