Tasting notes
The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is another animal altogether. It boasts an inky/ruby/purple color as well as a big, juicy, fruity personality that offers copious quantities of blackberries, black raspberries, cherries, camphor and forest floor characteristics. The wine reveals great purity of fruit, a full-bodied, fleshy mouthfeel, decent acidity and ripe, well-integrated tannin. This impressively endowed 2010 should drink well for 10-15 years. This small estate also produces some superb Gigondas and Cotes du Rhones from proprietor Eric Michel’s biodynamically farmed vineyards. Importers: Simon N Cellars, Charlottesville, VA; tel.
