Full bottle just 1,248 g. RS 1 g/l, TA 6.3 g/l. There's quite noticeable dissolved carbon dioxide in this. Broad fruit with a marked undertow likely to soothe a sore throat. Very saline after the rich, ripe fruity start so that it finishes dry after quite an impression on the palate. A complex wine to serve with even quite complex savoury dishes. Really extremely long and satisfying, if you're looking for a full-bodied wine with real character over and above the alcohol. Rather scrumptious on the palate already but the nose is still coming together. (JR)

The 2024 Grüner Veltliner Wachstum Bodenstein Smaragd was planted in 1997 to a selection of old Grüner Veltliner genetics in the upper reaches of Achleiten. A suspicion of flintiness opens the nose, followed by shyness, reticence and stoniness. The palate offers the yeasty mid-palate savor of Grüner and a beautiful lightness, with a flow that is compact but complete, fresh and elongated.
