Score 88-90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2006
Good deep red. Black cherry, licorice and leather on the nose, with good spicy lift. Spicy, ripe and juicy, with black fruit flavors perked up by pepper. But not vegetal, in the way of numerous Beaune wines from this vintage. Finishes firmly tannic and juicy.

Quite broad appeal with very clearly defined acidity. Crystal cut. Pure. Far from opulent, though. Hard finish. (JR)
