Tasting notes
This first-rate estate has turned out a terrific 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape and it offers lots of garrigue, and southern Rhône spice as well as medium to full-bodied richness, loads of ripe red and black fruits, and chalky tannin on the finish. It's a classic, workhorse styled effort to drink over the coming 7-8 years.

Grand Tinel's charming, forward 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape is a solid value for drinking over the next decade or so. It features subtle cinnamon and nutmeg aromas, modest cherry fruit, plush tannins and some leathery notes on the silky finish. It's a classic blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre.
(all destemmed fruit; fermented in stainless steel tanks and raised in a combination of foudres , demi-muids and barriques ) Brilliant ruby-red. Aromas of ripe red berries, garrigue and dried flowers develop a hint of white pepper as the wine opens up. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering sweet, spice-tinged raspberry and floral pastille flavors given lift and spine by a jolt of tangy acidity. Finishes long and supple, displaying smooth tannins and lingering florality.
