Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2029, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2012

The 2009 Beaune Les Aigrots comes across as quite rich, dark and powerful. Ideally the wine needs several years in the bottle to settle down a bit. Today it is incredibly intense and primary. Dark plums, spices and menthol wrap around the fleshy, generous finish.

Fairly pale. Not much nose. Lots of fruit on the front palate. Very nice balance on the palate. Just needs to develop a bit more on the nose. Flattering and exuberant, though not the freshest. (JR)
