Score 90/100 · Drink 1996-2007, Robert Parker, Jan 1997
Though Bonneau considers the Cuvee Marie Beurrier to be less intense than his other cuvees, most tasters will find it a wine of enormous richness and thickness. It is a great bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape, with an exotic bouquet of herbs, chocolate, red fruits, and leather. In the mouth it is velvety, rich, and a true old, heady, blockbuster style of Chateauneuf. Anticipated maturity: now-2007. Last tasted 5/96.

About the producer

Henri Bonneau
This very old-school property makes the most unique Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wines are fantastically complex and Boneauu made it as it would have been produced 100 years ago in the commune, using methods that familiar to any of the 11 generations of vignerons in his family who preceded him.
