Tasting notes
A blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache Noir, and 20% Mourvèdre, aged for 18 months in casks, the 2022 Pic Saint Loup Sainte Agnès is a little shy on the nose but opens up a bit more on the palate. There’s lots of black fruit (blueberry, blackberry) and spices, with a lovely intense flavor, but overall the wine remains uncomplicated and delicious. Fresh, with fine, mellow tannins, it finishes tight and is best decanted upon opening to allow it to soften. More of a food wine, it will pair well with grilled red meats. Drink 2025-2030. The vineyard is organically farmed.
